Angry Black Man

"I really LIKE Coldcast -- as a character, I wanted to provide a foil against Manchester.

He's sort of the most responsible of The Elite, and he was sort of serious.

I wanted to take The Angry Black Man stereotype and PUSH it, and have him be AWARE that he was pushing it.

That's why he wears CHAINS -- like, he's very CLEARLY embracing,  and wearing on his sleeve this Cultural Identity.

Much like Manchester, Coldcast's Powers are triggered by an EMOTIONAL Moment -- I just tend to like that more in characters;

And the sort of analogy to our sort of emotional rollercoaster that we're on as Our Bodies change, that sort of [X-Men/Teen Titans] business, that sort of comic trope that's been around for a long time.

Coldcast is an Energy MANIPULATOR.

I really liked the idea of someone who could do, like a biological EMP.

Trying to come up with characters that can HURT Superman...!!

This is what people have been trying to do for over 75 Years now, and you've gotta come up with new ways to do it!
