There are two reasons for this.
First is the fact that the Jews have only one unity-- that of the target. They have lived in the world as a scattered and diverse folk who paid homage to many cultures and called many flags their own. Under attack they have achieved falsely the air of "a race", "a people" and even "a nation."
The Germans have animated the myth of the Jewish menace beyond any of their predecessors and have tried to prove their case by presenting the world with a larger pile of Jewish corpses than has ever before been introduced into this ancient argument.
Despite this unity which death has given them, the peace will reveal that the Jews were diversified and harmless political nobody who had in common little more than the rage of the Germans. They have no country to represent them at the judgment table.
The second reason why they will not be represented is even more practical. Outside the borders of Russia, there will not be enough Jews left in Europe to profit by representation were it given to them. They will have been reduced from a minority to a phantom.
There will be no representatives of the 3,000,000 Jews who once lived in Poland, or of the 9000,000 who once lived in Rumania, or of the 900,000 who once lived in Germany, or of the 750,000 who once lived in Czechoslovakia, or of the 400,000 who once lived in France, Holland and Belgium.
Of these 6,000,000 Jews almost a third have already been massacred by the Germans, Rumanians and Hungarians, and the most conservative of the scorekeepers estimate that before the war ends at least another third will have been done to death.
These totals will not include Jews who died in the brief battles of the German blitzes, nor those who figure in the casualty lists of the Russians. Of the 3,000,000 Jews in Russia, more than 700,000 have entered the Soviet armies and fought and bled on all the valorous battlefields of the Muscovites. These are the lucky Jews of Europe and are not to be counted in the tale of their nightmare.
The millions who were hanged, burned or shot did not die dreaming, like the valorous Greeks, Dutchmen, Frenchmen and Czechs, of abatements to be avenged and homelands to be restored. These great sustaining powers in the human soul are unknown to the Jews. When they die in massacre they look toward no tomorrow to bring their children happiness and their enemies disaster. For no homeland is ever theirs, no matter how long they live in it, how well they serve it, or how many of its songs they learn to sing.
When plans for a new world are being threshed out at the peace conference, when guilts are being fixed and plums distributed, there will be nothing for the Jews of Europe to say to the delegates but the faint, sad phrase, "Remember us."
The dead of many lands will speak for justice, but the Jew alone will have no one to speak for him. His voice will remain outside the hall of judgment, to be heard only when the window is opened and the sad plaint drifts in;
"Remember us. In the town of Freiburg in the Black Forest, two hundred of us were hanged and left dangling out of kitchen windows to watch our synagogue burn and our Rabbi being flogged to death.
"In Szczucin in Poland on the morning of September 23, which is the day set aside for our Atonement, we were in our Synagogue praying God to forgive us. All our village was there. Above our prayers we heard the sound of motor lorries. They stopped in front of our synagogue. The Germans tumbled out of them, torches in hand and set fire to us. When we ran out of the flames they turned machine guns on us. They seized our women and undressed them and made them run naked through the marketplace before their whips. All of us were killed before our Atonement was done. Remember us.
"In Wloclawek also the Germans came when we were at worship. They tore the prayer shawls from our heads. Under whips and bayonets they made us use our prayer shawls as mops to clean out German latrines. We were all dead when the sun set. Remember us.
"In Mlogielnica, in Brzcziny, in Wengrow, and in many such places where we lived obeying the law, working for our bread and offering harm to no one, there also the Germans with their bayonets and torches, debasing us first and then killing us slowly so they might longer enjoy the massacres.
"In Warsaw in the year 1941 we kept count and at the end of 13 months 72, 279 of us had died. Most of us were shot, but there were thousands of us who were whipped and bayoneted to death on the more serious charge of having been caught praying to God for deliverance. Remember us.
"In the seven months after June 1941 there were 60,000 of us massacred in Bessarabia and Bukovina. There were more than that killed in Minsk. We hung from windows and burned in basements and were beaten to death in the marketplace, and it was a time of great celebration for the Germans.
"Remember us who were put in the freight trains that left France, Holland and Belgium for the east. We died standing up, for there was no food or air or water. Those who survived were sent to Transnistria and there died of hunger slowly and under the watchful eyes of the Germans and Rumanians.
"We fill the waters of the Dnieper today with our bodies, thousands of us. And for a long time to come no one will be able to drink from that river or swim in it. For we are still there. and this too, is held against us, that we have poisoned the water with our dead bodies.
"Remember us who were in the Ukraine. Here the Germans grew angry because we were costing them too much time and ammunition to kill. They devised a less expensive method. They took our women into the roads and tied them together with our children. Then they drove their heavy motor lorries into us. Thousands of us died with German military cars running back and forth over our broken bodies.
"Remember us in Ismail when the Rumanians came. For two days they were busy leading all the Jews to the synagogue. We were finally locked inside it. Then the Rumanian Iron Guards blew us up with dynamite.
"In Ungheni, Rumania, the Germans accused of crimes against the police. Three thousand of us were tried. The Germans followed us to our homes. They had been forbidden to waste bullets on us. We were old and unarmed but it took them two days to club us all to death with their rifle butts and rip us into silence with their bayonets.
"Remember, too, those of us who were not killed by the Germans but killed themselves. Some say there were 100,000 of us, some say 200,000. No count was kept. Our deaths accomplished little, but it made us happy to die quickly and to know that we were robbing Germans of their sport."
These are only a few of the voices. There are many more and there will be yet more millions.
When the German delegates sit at the peace table, no sons or survivors or representatives of these myriad dead will be there to speak for them. And by the that time it will be seen that the Jews are Jews only when they fall under German rifle butts, before German motor lorries, and hang from German belts out of their kitchen windows. Once dead it will be seen that the Jews are left without a government to speak for their avenging and that there is no banner to fly in their tomorrow.
Only this that I write-- and all the narratives like it that will be written-- will be their voice that may drift in through the opened window of the judgement hall."

"At present there are four crematoria in operation at BIRKENAU, two large ones, I and II, and two smaller ones, III and IV. Those of type I and II consist of 3 parts, i.e.,: (A) the furnace room; (B) the large halls; and (C) the gas chamber. A huge chimney rises from the furnace room around which are grouped nine furnaces, each having four openings. Each opening can take three normal corpses at once and after an hour and a half the bodies are completely burned. This corresponds to a daily capacity of about 2,000 bodies. Next to this is a large "reception hall" which is arranged so as to give the impression of the antechamber of a bathing establishment. It holds 2,000 people and apparently there is a similar waiting room of the floor below. From there a door and a few steps lead down into the very long and narrow gas chamber. The walls of this chamber are also camouflaged with simulated entries to shower rooms in order to mislead the victims. This roof is fitted with three traps which can be hermetically closed from the outside. A track leads from the gas chamber to the furnace room.
The gassing takes place as follows: the unfortunate victims are brought into hall (B) where they are told to undress. To complete the fiction that they are going to bathe, each person receives a towel and a small piece of soap issued by two men clad in white coats. They are then crowded into the gas chamber (C) in such numbers there is, of course, only standing room. To compress this crowd into the narrow space, shots are often fired to induce those already at the far end to huddle still closer together.
When everybody is inside, the heavy doors are closed. Then there is a short pause, presumably to allow the room temperature to rise to a certain level, after which SS men with gas masks climb on the roof, open the traps, and shake down a preparation in powder form out of tin cans labeled "CYKLON" "For use against vermin," which is manufactured by a Hamburg concern. It is presumed that this is a "CYANIDE" mixture of some sort which turns into gas at a certain temperature. After three minutes everyone in the chamber is dead. No one is known to have survived this ordeal, although it was not uncommon to discover signs of life after the primitive measures employed in the Birch Wood. The chamber is then opened, aired, and the "special squad" carts the bodies on flat trucks to the furnace rooms where the burning takes place. Crematoria III and IV work on nearly the same principle, but their capacity is only half as large. Thus the total capacity of the four cremating and gassing plants at BIRKENAU amounts to about 6,000 daily."
The Nazi Holocaust as a social construct and Auschwitz as an archetype for the very manifestation of human suffering and cruelty long pre-dates it's "liberation" (there was almost no-one left there to liberate, the bulk of the inmates having been dispatched West on death matches ahead of the advancing Soviet front), and it is that mythology that has been used by practically everyone involved ever since to leverage their any given political agenda;
In that sense, Auschwitz as it was captured by the Red Army that day was a Tabula Rasa - the Public Myth of Auschwitz is public property, held in common, onto which you can project almost anything you want to believe about the abandoned barracks and factory facilities, and most have... They almost never confirm or align with anyone else's projections onto the site and its subsequent meaning, however....
Somehow, people still appear to be shocked and thereby offended by this - its scarcely surprising, but the enforced separation of 35+ years from the site itself during the Cold War for most in the Western nations, in addition to the Original Sin of Katyn at Nuremberg has led to the belief that the Myth must surely always triumph over reality, in defiance of all norms of causal reality.
Leo Strauss, the father of NeoConservative thought taught political science as an American Jew in academia working for the Rockefellers at the University of Chicago, identifying and mentoring the American leaders of the future from throughout the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
His social model for the preservation and consolidation of an Oligarchical Society was founded upon a strict adherence to a particular, radical interpretation of both the Noble Lie and the Allegory of the Cave from Plato's Republic, filtered through Orwell, by way of Huxley;
"Strauss believed it was for politicians to assert powerful and inspiring myths that everyone could believe in.
They might not be true, but they were necessary illusions.
One of these was religion; the other was the myth of the nation."
The War Refugee Board was :
("Imp of Satan" and Dean of the Wall Street Establishment - Republican)
(Secretary of State - Democrat)
Henry Morgenthau Jr.
(Secretary of the Treasury - Democrat)
"The evidence is there in the files. And over the week before I've been working in Hyde Park, not Hyde Park, London, but Hyde Park, New York, where the Roosevelt Archives are.
Now the uninitiated [unintelligible] might imagine that in the Roosevelt Archives, you're just going to find President's Roosevelt's papers, but no. You'll find there the papers of a lot of bodies and agencies that were connected with the Roosevelt administration. Very strange people have donated their papers to the Roosevelt Archives. And I never realised until I turned up at the Roosevelt Archives, ten days ago to work there for a week or more, that they have in those archives the entire papers of the War Refugee Board.
And you might think that that's a very unpromising kind of body, but the War Refugee Board turns out to have been three men -- Henry Stimson, Cordell Hull, and Henry Morgenthau, Jr. Henry Stimson, Secretary of War; Cordell Hull, Secretary of State, foreign minister; and Henry Morgenthau, Jr, that rather murky, ominous, insidious figure, the Head of the American Treasury, the Secretary of the Treasury. So that was the War Refugee Board.
And they were responsible for channelling colossal sums of money from various Jewish bodies like the Joint Distribution Agency, the World Jewish Congress and various other bodies, which you are all familiar, into Europe in 1944, making sure that it reached the Jewish organisations in Europe and helped the Jews out of their tragedy.
And we're not going to deny that the Jews were in a tragic situation in Europe in 1944, not just in Germany -- nobody wanted them. This was the situation they found themselves in and the American Jews rallied round and provided colossal sums of money and in the records of the War Refugee Board are the cheques and the receipts -- the receipted photocopies of the receipted cheques for millions of dollars from the World Jewish Congress being sent over to Switzerland where the Americans had their representatives [ALLEN DULLES].
And then in July 1944, come the first signs of an extraordinary document coming out of Czechoslovakia -- a report allegedly by two Slovak Jews who have been in Auschwitz. And this is one of the king-pin documents of the whole Auschwitz case -- if not, the king-pin document. It is a long report about twenty-five or thirty pages long. It is in the Roosevelt Library.
Two young Slovak Jews who claimed to have been in Auschwitz and claimed to have witnessed all these atrocities.
And the extraordinary thing is there that this is the seminal document of the whole of the Auschwitz mythology. You find everything in this document -- the gas chambers, the crematoria, the smoking chimneys, the dressing, the undressing, the women, the men, the babies, the children having their arms and legs torn off -- all these extraordinary, lurid details as though written by a journalist in this Slovak report.
And, of course, I'm interested, because I want to see the original and it's not there. The only documents in the files are an English version of the report and a German version of the report.
But no Slovak version of the report!
And this is allegedly written by two Slovak Jews who have escaped from Auschwitz.
Okay, well, I'm not going to let you into too many details of the research that I've done on the War Refugee Board. I just want to give you a few hints of what is coming in a few years time when the book comes out.
It is very likely, in my view, that this report was written by two men who had been nowhere closer to Auschwitz than probably Madison Avenue. Who knows? I don't think it ever existed in a Slovak version.
The authenticating documents associated with it are originated by the American legation in Bern [ALLEN W. DULLES].
The American Ambassador in Bern, sends report after report to the State Department describing how he's trying to authenticate it, but not getting very far. And he keeps on coming up with second and third order evidence. He says, "I've spoken to the people, [name of official], who claims to have interviewed the two men and he finds them very credible."
And then gradually it comes out that the report has been concocted with the assistance, the editorial assistance, of the Jewish Resistance organisation in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. So it isn't a report by these two men at all. It is a committee report written by some nameless committee, in German.
And when it came out in November 1944, finally, after it was smuggled out of Slovakia in dramatic ways to Switzerland and then brought out of Switzerland by the Americans, sent to Washington and then issued by the War Refugee Board on November 26th, 1944, remarkable things happened.
The first remarkable thing that happens is that the Washington Post and the New York Times declined to print it. Every other newspaper in the United States printed it except these two magnificent, respectable, responsible newspapers. The Washington Post and the New York Times said we want further and better particulars before we're going to fall for this one. Very interesting.
And two of their best journalists actually challenge it. One of them finally writes in a column in the newspaper, "We've had so many atrocity stories in this war that we want to have a few more details about this report put out by the War Refugee Board." And it's so refreshing to go back to a wartime document in November, 1944, and find people, even then, challenging something about that...
So... So this is the first thing we find that when that report was issued on November 26th, 1944, responsible journalists who knew their job challenged it straight away. They had a gut feeling that something wasn't quite right.
The second thing we notice about it is that one of the people who was ostensibly a member of the War Refugee Board, Henry Stimson -- he knew nothing about the report being issued over his name.
The first he knew about it was when his Assistant Secretary of War, John McCloy, telephoned him and said, "Henry, what the hell is going on?" And Henry telephoned the other Henry, Henry Morgenthau, who'd actually issued the report. Morgenthau had the War Refugee Board housed in his building.
And we've got the Henry Morgenthau diary and let me just read out what Henry Morgenthau's diary says on that day -- November 27th, 1944. The Henry Morgenthau diary, on the morning of the report being splashed in the newspapers.
Stimson phoned him. Morgenthau says, "How are you?" Stimson says, "I've just learned that there was some quite striking announcement put out as to the atrocities yesterday by the Committee on Refugees", meaning the War Refugee Board. "Well, it must have been done without anybody showing it to me, so I was rather mortified by not knowing anything about it."
Huh! Mortifying, isn't it? To find out that your pal, Morgenthau, down the road has issued a report over your name.
This sensational report about the Germans killing 1.75 million people in one camp by gas with all these bestial atrocities and you find your name has been appended as one of the signatories.
Morgenthau says, "Well, I..." He's interrupted by Stimson, who is obviously very angry.
You see, Morgenthau kept a verbatim record of all his telephone conversations, which in this case is rather foolish.
Stimson says, "I don't think they ought to do that."
Morgenthau says, "Well, I was under the impression. I know he showed it to me."
Stimson says, "I know, I'm thoroughly, I'll probably be in thorough sympathy with any such announcement, but I think it's important to get it out, but as long as I'm one of the committee, I think I ought to know about it, particularly when you and I are the only two members of the committee in the sickness of Hull." Aha!
Aha! It turns out that the third member of the committee, Cordell Hull, was off sick. Aha! So now we understand how the report gets delayed from July, 1944, until November. He waits until Cordell Hale is off sick, the Secretary of State, and then he issues it without telling the other member, Henry Stimson.
So we're learning a little bit about how this magnificent report on Auschwitz came into being. "

The Hitler Order.
"It's just one of the Gaps in History."
"As the Nazi regime developed over the years, the whole structure of decision-making was changed.
At first there were laws.
Then there were decrees implementing laws.
Then a law was made saying, "There shall be no laws."
Then there were orders and directives that were written down, but still published in ministerial gazettes.
Then there was government by announcement; orders appeared in newspapers.
Then there were the quiet orders, the orders that were not published, that were within the bureaucracy, that were oral.
Finally, there were no orders at all.
Everybody knew what he had to do.”
Author of "The Destruction of the European Jews"
In earlier editions of Destruction, in fact, Hilberg discussed an "order" given by Hitler to have Jews killed, while more recent editions do not refer to a direct command. Hilberg later commented that he
"made this change in the interest of precision about the evidence[...]."
Notwithstanding Hilberg's focus on bureaucratic momentum as an indispensable force behind the Holocaust, he maintained that extermination of Jews was one of Hitler's aims:
"The primary notion in Germany is that Hitler did it. As it happens, this is also my notion, but I'm not wedded to it"
(qtd. in Guttenplan, p. 303).
Lincoln's "Spot Resolutions," made in response to President Polk's claim that Mexico had invaded US territory and shed American blood.
The proposed resolutions, demanding that the exact location where the blood had been shed be revealed, were not debated in the House, nor did they receive any response from the President.
"Spot Resolutions" on Mexican War.
Offered in the United States House of Representatives. December 22, 1847.
Whereas, The President of the United States, in his message of May 11, 1846, has declared that "the Mexican Government not only refused to receive him [the envoy of the United States], or to listen to his propositions, but, after a long-continued series of menaces, has at last invaded our territory and shed the blood of our fellow-citizens on our own soil."
And again, in his message of December 8, 1846, that "we had ample cause of war against Mexico long before the breaking out of hostilities; but even then we forbore to take redress into our own hands until Mexico herself became the aggressor, by invading our soil in hostile array, and shedding the blood of our citizens."
And yet again, in his message of December 7, 1847, that "the Mexican Government refused even to hear the terms of adjustment which he [our minister of peace] was authorized to propose, and finally, under wholly unjustifiable pretexts, involved the two countries in war, by invading the territory of the State of Texas, striking the first blow, and shedding the blood of our citizens on our own soil."
And whereas, This House is desirous to obtain a full knowledge of all the facts which go to establish whether the particular spot on which the blood of our citizens was so shed was or was not at that time our own soil; therefore,
Resolved, By the House of Representatives, that the President of the United States be respectfully requested to inform this House—
First. Whether the spot on which the blood of our citizens was shed, as in his message declared, was or was not within the territory of Spain, at least after the treaty of 1819 until the Mexican revolution.
Second. Whether that spot is or is not within the territory which was wrested from Spain by the revolutionary Government of Mexico.
Third. Whether that spot is or is not within a settlement of people, which settlement has existed ever since long before the Texas revolution, and until its inhabitants fled before the approach of the United States army.
Fourth. Whether that settlement is or is not isolated from any and all other settlements by the Gulf and the Rio Grande on the south and west, and by wide uninhabited regions on the north and east.
Fifth. Whether the people of that settlement, or a majority of them, or any of them, have ever submitted themselves to the government or laws of Texas or of the United States, by consent or by compulsion, either by accepting office, or voting at elections, or paying tax, or serving on juries, or having process served upon them, or in any other way.
Sixth. Whether the people of that settlement did or did not flee from the approach of the United States army, leaving unprotected their homes and their growing crops, before the blood was shed, as in the message stated; and whether the first blood, so shed, was or was not shed within the inclosure of one of the people who had thus fled from it.
Seventh. Whether our citizens, whose blood was shed, as in his message declared, were or were not, at that time, armed officers and soldiers, sent into that settlement by the military order of the President, through the Secretary of War.
Eighth. Whether the military force of the United States was or was not so sent into that settlement after General Taylor had more than once intimated to the War Department that, in his opinion, no such movement was necessary to the defense or protection of Texas.

Unidentified Leg Found in Bomb Rubble
By JOHN KIFNER
OKLAHOMA CITY, Aug. 7— A new mystery surfaced in the Oklahoma City bombing today, just days before formal charges were to be lodged, when the State Medical Examiner disclosed that a severed leg and foot clad in a combat boot had been found deep in the rubble.
The brief announcement, more than two months after the authorities said all victims were accounted for, came after the lawyer for Timothy J. McVeigh, the prime suspect in the bombing which killed 167 people, said he would ask prosecutors to explore information that a severed leg had been found that could not be matched to a body.
The lawyer, Stephen Jones, speculated that the leg and foot may have belonged to "the real bomber" who could have been blown apart in the April 19 explosion.
The finding, which raises the possibility of there being another participant, came as the deadline neared for Federal prosecutors to bring indictments for the Federal Building blast against Mr. McVeigh and another Army veteran, Terry L. Nichols. A third member of the same Army unit from Fort Riley, Kan., Michael Fortier, is also likely to be indicted, although he has been negotiating for leniency in exchange for his testimony and may face lesser charges.
Mr. Fortier's wife, Lori, was brought to the Federal Courthouse here today for a 15-minute meeting with a judge in which she was granted immunity in exchange for her testimony before the grand jury, expected on Tuesday. The grant of immunity for Mrs. Fortier was a chief element in the deal that Mr. Fortier was attempting to strike with the Federal prosecutors.
But the existence of an unknown body could cast the case in a new light. One possibility is that the leg belonged to the second man some witnesses reported seeing with Mr. McVeigh in the period just before the bombing but whom investigators have never been able to identify. Thus far, despite a huge search for a "John Doe No. 2," Federal investigators have not identified any other participants.
The Medical Examiner's office, in a statement issued today, said it was continuing to analyze unidentified human tissue recovered from the Federal Building, among which was "a traumatically amputated left thigh and lower leg recovered on May 30, 1995."
"This leg was clothed in a black military type boot, two socks, and an olive drab blousing strap," the statement continued. "Anthropological analysis of this specimen reveals the individual to be light skinned, dark haired, probably less than 30 years of age, male (75 percent probability), and having an estimated height of 66 plus or minus three inches."
The Medical Examiner's office said that the leg had not been matched to any other known victims or survivors.
The operations director of the Medical Examiner's office, Ray Blackeney, said the severed leg was found after the last three identified bodies were removed from the building, an operation that was delayed until after the building was demolished because of fears that the structure would collapse.
At the time of the recovery of the three bodies, Mr. Blackeney had dismissed the possibility that a bomber was killed in the blast, saying: "As far as I'm concerned, he's not there. We have found the people where we thought we would find them. We didn't find anybody we didn't think was there."
Because the leg was found after the building was demolished by controlled explosions on May 23, it may be difficult to determine its original location. But because the area above the three bodies was thoroughly searched, and the wreckage sealed off and guarded, it would appear that the leg had been further down in the rubble, near the center of the blast. That location would be consistent with someone in or near the exploding truck. Further, Mr. Blackeney said the leg was the largest identifiable body part, suggesting that the rest of the individual had disintegrated from the force of a nearby explosion.
The "olive drab blousing strap" mentioned in the Medical Examiner's report is a thin elastic band commonly used in the military to "blouse" trousers by tucking the bottoms around the strap and pulling them down over the tops of high combat boots for a neat appearance.
The military personnel -- mostly recruiting officers -- inside the Federal Building were all accounted for. However, a veteran or someone who, like Mr. McVeigh, favored military garb might be likely to use blousing straps.
Asked in a telephone conversation why the Medical Examiner's office had not made the existence of the severed leg public before, Mr. Blackeney replied; "Why should we?"
"I knew about it," he said. "We all knew about it here at the Medical Examiner's."
He said that the Medical Examiner's technicians had been working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation using DNA and other tests on the severed leg and other pieces of tissue in hopes of establishing identifications.
"This has come out a little bit premature," Mr. Blackeney said. "This is the last piece of the puzzle and I hope at some point to offer an explanation."

Evidence of Criminal or Moral Guilt on the Part of President Richard Nixon Relative to the Watergate Break-in
Bob Woodward, The Guardian (3rd June, 2005)
"Somewhat to my astonishment, Felt was an admirer of Hoover. He appreciated his orderliness and the way he ran the bureau with rigid procedures and an iron fist. Felt said he appreciated that Hoover arrived at the office at 6.30 each morning and everyone knew what was expected.
The Nixon White House was another matter, Felt said. The political pressures were immense without being specific. I believe he called it "corrupt" and sinister. Hoover, Felt and the old guard were the wall that protected the FBI, he said."
