It's goats that get sacrificed.
The reason Jesus said "I am the lamb" as well as "I am the Son of Man" was because due to the procession of the Equinoxes, The World in 33AD had just left the Age of Ares.
The Ram was sacred to the Hebrew-Israelites, that's why they made of it a burnt offering at the Temple of Solomon - "I am The Lamb" means "I am the new ram.", "I am the new sacrament".
And entering the Age of Pieces, had he said "I am the fish", that would have just been completely loony.
