Lord Dannatt, former head of the British Army, said he did not support military intervention in Syria in any shape.



"In 2011, Boris Johnson won a High Court battle to evict Mr Haw from the square. He shifted a few feet onto the pavement, which was the responsibility of Westminster council. After his death in June 2011, a campaign backed by actor Sir Ian McKellen, TV presenter Stephen Fry, and philosopher Noam Chomsky was launched to erect the statue. The remains of Mr Haw’s display of placards were removed earlier this year."
