JFK50: Bush Family Alibis

Yesterday afternoon at Arlington National Cemetary, Presidents Obama and Clinton joined members of the Kennedy Family for a brief wreath-laying ceremony marking the half-Centenial of their Favourite Son.

As will come as a surprise to absolutely no-one, the surviving Presidents Bush did not attend - nor, of course, did President Carter, but then he is 937 years old, and currently building houses for the poor somewhere in Tagankia with Roselyn - also, he still hasn't been forgiven for whipping Ted Kennedy's  ass in '80, but then Teddy was asking for it....

No word on whether Vice Presidents Cheney, Gore, Quayle and Mondale were invited.

There is a certain historical symmetry, here - when asked, whilst running for President in 1988, where he had been on 22nd November 1963, Bush found himself completely unable to recall - a memory which not only never returned to him, but infected both his wife and eldest son as well.

President George H.W. Bush can't remember what he was doing when President John Kennedy was killed.

And no one knows where he was on that day.

First Lady Barbara Bush can't remember what she was doing, or where her husband was when President John Kennedy was killed.

And no one knows what they were doing that day.

President George W. Bush can't remember what he was doing when Editor of George Magazine, John Kennedy Jr. was killed.

And no one knows where he was on that day.

The day President Ronald Reagan was shot in Washington, ostensibly by John Warnock Hinkley Jr., Neil Bush DID remember that he was scheduled to have dinner at the home of the son of John Hinkley Sr., the FOLLOWING day, but cancelled following adverse alarm.

George H.W. Bush hasn't been able to remember where he was at the time of John F. Kennedy's murder for more than Twenty Five Years now.

And when asked today for his whereabouts yesterday, every indication currently indicates that he is unable to remember where he was, or what he was doing all that time.
