Russian president says predominantly Jewish Soviet government was guided by false ideological considerations.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that at least 80 percent of the members of the first Soviet government were Jewish.
“I thought about something just now: The decision to nationalize this library was made by the first Soviet government, whose composition was 80-85 percent Jewish,” Putin said June 13 during a visit to Moscow’s Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center.
Putin was referencing the library of Rabbi Joseph I. Schneerson, the late leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement. The books, which are claimed by Chabad representatives in the United States, began being moved to the museum in Moscow this month.
According to the official transcription of Putin’s speech at the museum, he went on to say that the politicians on the predominantly Jewish Soviet government “were guided by false ideological considerations and supported the arrest and repression of Jews, Russian Orthodox Christians, Muslims and members of other faiths. They grouped everyone into the same category.
“Thankfully, those ideological goggles and faulty ideological perceptions collapsed. And today, we are essentially returning these books to the Jewish community with a happy smile.”
Widely seen as the first Soviet government, the Council of People’s Commissars was formed in 1917 and comprised 16 leaders, including chairman Vladimir Lenin, foreign affairs chief Leon Trotsky and Joseph Stalin, who was in charge of the People’s Commissariat of Nationalities.

I have just returned from a visit to Germany. In so short time one can only form impressions or at least check impressions which years of distant observation through the telescope of the Press and constant inquiry from those who have seen things at a closer range had already made on one's mind.I have now seen the famous German Leader and also something of the great change he has effected. Whatever one may think of his methods - and they are certainly not those of a parliamentary country - there can be no doubt that he has achieved a marvellous transformation in the spirit of the people, in their attitude towards each other, and in their social and economic outlook.
He rightly claimed at Nuremberg that in four years his movement has made a new Germany. It is not the Germany of the first decade that followed the war - broken, dejected, and bowed down with a sense of apprehension and importance. It is now full of hope and confidence, and of a renewed sense of determination to lead its own life without interference from any influence outside its own frontiers.
There is for the first time since the war a general sense of security. The people are more cheerful. There is a greater sense of general gaiety of spirit throughout the land. It is a happier Germany. I saw it everywhere and Englishmen I met during my trip and who knew Germany well were very impressed with the change.
One man has accomplished this miracle. He is a born leader of men. A magnetic, dynamic personality with a single-minded purpose, a resolute will and a dauntless heart. He is not merely in name but in fact the national Leader. He has made them safe against potential enemies by whom they were surrounded. He is also securing them against that constant dread of starvation, which is one of the poignant memories of the last years of the War and the first years of the Peace.
Over 700,000 died of sheer hunger in those dark years. You can still see the effect in the physique of those who were born into that bleak world. The fact that Hitler has rescued his country from the fear of a repetition of that period of despair, penury and humiliation has given him unchallenged authority in modern Germany.
As to his popularity, especially among the youth of Germany, there can be no manner of doubt. The old trust him; the young idolise him. It is not the admiration accorded to a popular Leader. It is the worship of a national hero who has saved his country from utter despondency and degradation.
It is true that public criticism of the Government is forbidden in every form. That does not mean that criticism is absent. I have heard the speeches of prominent Nazi orators freely condemned. But not a word of criticism or of disapproval have I heard of Hitler. He is as immune from criticism as a king in a monarchical country. He is something more. He is the George Washington of Germany - the man who won for his country independence from all her oppressors.
To those who have not actually seen and sensed the way Hitler reigns over the heart and mind of Germany this description may appear extravagant. All the same, it is the bare truth. This great people will work better, sacrifice more, and, if necessary, fight with greater resolution because Hitler asks them to do so. Those who do not comprehend this central fact cannot judge the present possibilities of modern Germany.
On the other hand, those who imagine that Germany has swung back to its old Imperialist temper cannot have any understanding of the character of the change. The idea of a Germany intimidating Europe with a threat that its irresistible army might march across frontiers forms no part of the new vision.
What Hitler said at Nuremberg is true. The Germans will resist to the death every invader at their own country, but they have no longer the desire themselves to invade any other land. The leaders of modern Germany know too well that Europe is too formidable a proposition to be overrun and trampled down by any single nation, however powerful may be its armaments. They have learned that lesson in the war.
Hitler fought in the ranks throughout the war, and knows from personal experience what war means. He also knows too well that the odds are even heavier today against an aggressor than they were at that time. What was then Austria would now be in the main hostile to the ideals of 1914.
The Germans are under no illusions about Italy. They also are aware that the Russian Army is in every respect far more efficient than it was in 1914. The establishment of a German hegemony in Europe which was the aim and dream of the old pre-war militarism, is not even on the horizon of Nazism.

And that, I think, was the handle - that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil.

Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting - on our side or theirs.
We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave.
So now, less than 30 years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Donestk Donbass and look West - and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark.

That there were two dope burns for the same amount of money in each case, less than two weeks apart, is probably coincidence; but it got Gary Hinman murdered, got a dope dealer whipped on Cielo Drive in front of twenty-five eyewitnesses including many celebrities, and led up to the horrific murders in the same house only three days later.

He could spread the evil message of Helter Skelter while meanwhile getting paid—in some form, since money seemed to be in short supply in the days immediately preceding and succeeding the murders—by the drug dealing establishment to rid them of some problems.

It's a distinctly postmodern phenomenon that in the media charade presented via the mass media whenever now there is a search for a missing child (roughly once every 12 months), the police pretending to investigate it now will always issue statements to the media in press conferences using the personal pronouns "I", and "me", rather than "we" in reference to their so-called efforts in this investigation.
Is this because "we" sounds once again too reminiscent of the collective hive mind of the Brotherhoods...?

That they are not trying, and conspicuously misdirecting outside scrutiny so as to confuse activity with productivity or progress is obvious - during the Yorkshire Ripper series, the floor of Leeds CID had to be reinforced to support the weight of all the paper the investigation had accumulated; here, Police brag in dead-pan fashion about how many tens of thousands of CCTV surveillance tapes they have sat down and reviewed, and the countless manhours wasted on such a pointless exercise. This is how they lie, right -
They said "We have reviewed over 40,000 hrs of CCTV footage from over 150 cameras, that's more hours than were reviewed for the riots of 2010 - but it's a massive, massive task".
It's also completely unnecessary - they know ever she appears in the footage, on what cameras and at what time, and where she stops appearing on them.
So you don't need to look at 40,000 hrs of footage you need to look at probably less than 4.
The average person living in London will appear on CCTV between 70 to 100 times a day.
And whenever anything like this happens, eight they relevant cameras aren't working, or have been switched off.
They know exactly what happened to her - this is all just fluff to divert suspicion away from the knowledge that they actually have the tape and it contradicts their story of a Nasty Immigrant Builder (His NIBS..?) from the East.
This sinister brand of Orientalism is all-pervasive - for the citizens of the former Soviet Union, they may (and do) certainly care a lot to distinguish between a Lithuanian, a Bulgarian, Romanian, Moldovan or Transnistrian, but to the average man in the street in today's Britain, when they hear "Latvian Convicted Murderer", on some level, they hear "Russia".
As for the late, unfortunate patsy, Arnis Zalkalns, many, many things about his pre-packaged back story simply do not add up - again, it may make perfect sense to the British public that "of course" some backward banana republic like Latvia would release a convicted murderer from jail after serving only 7 years of a 12 year sentence, and then give him a passport and not keep track of where he is or what he is up to, but to anyone who grew up inside the former Soviet Union, or any other authoritarian state bureaucracy, the idea of just loosing interest in supposedly violent criminals upon their release is just laughable and insulting all at once - one area of Soviet Society that was NEVER at risk of creeping institutional incompetence was offender management and corrections.
Having made the junket/wild goose chase over to the Baltic State, the Latvian Police ostensibly appear to be conducting themselves with far greater professional integrity than their British counterparts - the line being, he hasn't committed any crimes here, he's not on our radar, we're not concerned about him, and I can't tell you anything further than that about any criminal intelligence we may have on him, since you are not authorised to have it - its confidential.
Implicit also in that answer is the suggestion that had he re-entered Latvia, his passport would have been flagged upon arrival, so why are you here...? And since he has been charged with no crime in Britain and no European Arrest Warrant has been issued, why should we tell you anything.
The Mother of his dead wife provides just the sort of soundbites one would expect from the Mother of a murdered daughter who feels he is to blame - and, understanding the Stasi-esque and ever-present BBC guidelines, we see a recurring trend emerging in their carefully worded statements.
Everyone knows that to receive a murder conviction does not make you a murderer - it does not work like that.
Reality will not cleave to Man-Law - in law, you can be a convicted murderer, but being a murderer in law does not infer that you are a murderer in fact.
The words (and tenses) that the BBC, and to a lesser extent the police use in reference to Arnis' conviction for the murder of his wife raise more questions than they purport to answer from only a superficial reading - they steer noticably clear from such declarative statements as "He is a convicted murderer"; rather, they use the form "he HAS a murder conviction", "he WAS convicted of murder", "he RECEIVED a murder conviction"....

Swiss Re To WTC: We'll Pay For One

Swiss financial institutions are famously secretive. But perhaps this trend towards reticence is because they tend to look callous or foolish when speaking aloud.
Yesterday, Swiss Re , regarded as the world’s second-largest reinsurance company, sued the World Trade Center–just six weeks after the most notorious act of violence in U.S. history demolished the buildings and killed roughly 5,000 tenants, firefighters, police and rescue workers.
[NB : Whilst the WTC was Port Authority property, the NYPD had no jurisdiction over the World Trade Center Estate - law enforcement was the exclusive privilage of the Port Police.]
The suit was filed in Manhattan federal court. Swiss Re, part of a group of companies that wrote insurance policies for Silverstein WTC Properties , which leased the Trade Center complex [Who owns it? The Ports Authority still..?] said the insurers were prepared to pay $3.5 billion, the maximum payout for a single insurable incident.
[Note : No mention of Building 7 - this looks like a piece of Three Card monte]
The lease was for roughly $3.2 billion. Swiss Re, through SR International , a U.S. subsidiary, is seeking a declaration as to what it owes and to whom. It wants the court to decide that the attack on the trade center is one unified insurance loss and not two.
[Actually 7 - The Twin Towers, the Millenium Hotel, the Customs House, WTC 5, 6 and 7].

It also asked the court to decide whether it owed its share of the payments – $770 million – solely to the investor group or to other entities, including businesses harmed by the disaster.
[Obvious conclusion of the outcome of the litigation - there were no businessmen in the complex harmed by the disaster]
If the policy is limited to $3.5 billion, Silverstein would be insufficiently insured to pay the projected $5 billion-plus necessary to replace the buildings and cover the group’s rental income losses after a catastrophic loss, Swiss Re said in court papers.
It added that a failure to rebuild the complex would mean the Port Authority and Silverstein’s creditors would be the ones to collect any insurance proceeds and Silverstein would likely obtain only a fraction of the total insurance recovery.”
“The lessees instead bought insurance almost sufficient to rebuild without regard to any possible loss of rental income,” the complaint said.
[because again - there is no rental income, except in some cases on paper, or as a money-laundering operation]
While Silverstein has not formally responded to the lawsuit, his spokesman denied he was underinsured [proves there were no tenants] and noted that Swiss Re is just one of 22 insurance companies involved in insuring Silverstein WTC’s interests.

The lawsuit comes just as U.S. insurers are presenting themselves publicly as ready and able to pay World Trade Center-related claims [because there are so few] – as well as seeking federal assistance in the event of future terrorist attacks. They have asked – and the Bush Administration has agreed – that taxpayers should pay a substantial portion of any such insurance claims for at least the next three years.
[They are not prepared to cover the cost and take the hit of Iraq War blowback, even after covering the cost - on paper - of a fraudulent event]
The insurers say federal relief is necessary because reinsurers – who provide insurance to insurance companies – have insisted on excluding terrorism-based claims from policies going forward.
Property and casualty insurers seemed poised to obtain relief in the event of the next attack – if there is another attack – because they have stepped up manfully to pay for this one. [Oh no they haven't...] Swiss Re’s position, though the company is a reinsurer rather than a direct insurer, may undermine its industry’s public position.

The intensity of their self-sown patriotism tinged the bulk of the citizens outside them with a colour of local consciousness which was by so much less vivid than the Beyrout-acquired unanimity of Damascus."

In the Sunday Times, 3 July 2005, Simon Jenkins wrote an article entitled: 'With a song in their heart and not much at all in their heads.'
Jenkins reminds us that Live Aid, according to David Rieff in Prospect Magazine, meant:
1. giving money, trucks and food to dictator Mengistu’s Ethiopia
2. entrenching a vicious regime
3. aiding one of the most cruel forced migrations in history.
Jenkins wants us to be charitable, but also to be subtle.
Jenkins writes: "At a rough estimate some $500 billion was tipped into Africa over the past 40 years. Most observers maintain this contributed to political instability and a negative growth rate."
Jenkins wants Geldoff and friends to 'join in the democratic debate and engage with a complex argument.'
Jenkins wants Geldoff to mention the following:
1. "Over the next three years some £15 billion is needed for anti-retroviral drugs in Africa. While Geldof bills and coos with Blair on television this week, will he mention that this gigantic sum is exactly what Blair intends to blow on a single, useless ID computer?
2. "The quickest salve to poverty in Africa is entirely within reach of Britain’s exchequer. For the cost of an equally useless NHS computer, Blair could conquer malaria as well.
3. Subsidies for farmers? "There is no Live 8 concert in Brussels or on the sugar beet prairies of East Anglia.
4. "Nor will Live 8 plead with the NHS to stop its most vicious sanction, the poaching of a third of Africa’s qualified doctors and nurses."
