You use that friendship 

to find out

What They WANT.

And then, you give it to them :

If it’s Money, you pay them that,

if it’s Sex, you arrange for that —

Drugs, Booze, Gambling,

Whatever it is, you provide it to them.

And they become loyal to you, 

not so much because they fear exposure, 

or because you have the goods on them,

and are in a position to blackmail them 

(although you can, and you are) —

But because by betraying you, 

or being disloyal to you —

They will loose access to

These Things That They LIKE.

And so, You corrupt Them.
