Saints Fight for Themselves AND Others - So That They Might Be HEARD.

George C. Scott winning Best Actor for "Patton"

Goldie Hawn presenting George C. Scott with the Best Actor Oscar® for his performance in "Patton" at the 43rd Academy Awards® in 1971.

What a goddamn repulsive display -- no wonder Marlon had to up The Ante with his own refusal, two years later.

Firstly -- You CAN'T Accept Something FOR Somebody Else, without asking them, without their permission and which they (EXPLICITLY) Do Not Want -- having The Producer of Patton volunteer himself for such a duty PROVES that all that They (The Academy, and by extension, Hollywood in total) are really interested in is SAVING FACE

Secondly -- NOBODY on that podium, in that room or amongst that group of people is prepared to ACKNOWLEDGE The Reality that George DOES NOT WANT their recognition or accolades, or WHY -- Nobody SAYS Anything About it.... They just move on and pretend and try to behave as though it were Not True, but Everybody in The Room KNOWS that it is (certainly about the first part of that, and the bulk of them about the second part as well.)

 and,

Finally -- "He Made Me Look RIDICULOUS! And a Man in My Position Cannot AFFORD to be Made to Look RIDICULOUS!!!"

Marlon Brando's Oscar® win for "The Godfather"

Sacheen Littlefeather refuses to accept the Best Actor Oscar® on behalf of Marlon Brando for his performance in "The Godfather" at the 45th annual Academy Awards® in 1973. Liv Ullmann and Roger Moore presented the award.

 "He Made Me Look RIDICULOUS!

And a Man in My Position Cannot AFFORD to be Made to Look RIDICULOUS!!!"

HE TAUGHT ME HOW TO FIGHT - HOW TO STAND MY GROUND AND BE BRAVE - HOW TO SPEAK-UP AND BE BOLD

Because Saints Fight for Themselves AND Others -

So That They Might Be HEARD.
