    •    They have three hearts. One heart pumps blood to the body, while the other two hearts pump blood to the gills.


    •    They have nine brains. One brain is located in the head, while the other eight brains are located in each tentacle.


    •    They have blue blood. This is because their blood contains a copper-based protein called hemocyanin, which is blue in color.


    •    They can camouflage themselves to blend in with their surroundings, by changing their color and texture to match their environment.


    •    They can squeeze through tiny spaces. Their bodies are very flexible, and they can fit through small openings.


    •    They have three eyes. Two of their eyes are on top of their heads and the other is on the underside of their body. They use their third eye to detect light and dark.


    •    They have a beak like a parrot. They use their beak to crack open shells and tear apart food.


Octopuses are amazing creatures! They are intelligent, curious, and resourceful. They play an important role in the marine ecosystem and they are also a lot of fun to learn about.
