Gorbavechev has confirmed in numerous subsequent interviews, the Armenian Earthquake BANKRUPTED the USSR, more so than Afghanistan or even Chernobyl. It would not recover.
Quote: "Up to 45000 people died and a further 50,0000 were homeless after the devastating earthquake which ripped through Armenia. They say that Gorbachev and Yazov tested seismic nuclear weapons. The earthquake had an artificial origin and was organised by the criminal Soviet administration, they did it to punish the Armenians for the national liberation movement (see the book by S. Ayvazyan)."
"Gorbachev set aside 5 billion rubles (about $8 billion U.S. dollars) in funds for a start on what would likely be a recovery cost that would exceed the cleanup bill for the 1986 nuclear and radiation accident in Ukraine. While foreign doctors did assist with the Chernobyl incident, the Soviet relief effort after the earthquake was augmented by the largest foreign cooperation since World War II. That deluge of western aid was a byproduct of the disaster that may have had a positive effect on Soviet Union–United States relations. The cost of rebuilding would be a severe obstacle for Perestroika, Gorbachev's plan for economic restructuring. Another adverse affect of the disaster was that the Armenians were already distrustful of Gorbachev's dismissal of their claims to the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, which the Armenians had been contesting with neighboring Azerbaijan.
American businessman and philanthropist Armand Hammer, well known to the Soviet Union for his financial pursuits and humanitarian ties, left Los Angeles for Armenia on board a Boeing 727 loaded with 2,300 pounds of medical supplies that were provided by the American Red Cross. Hammer, known for his decades of work with the Occidental Petroleum Corporation, had spoken with Gorbachev prior to leaving and was carrying with him $1 million in relief funds. Half of those funds were from World Vision International, a California-based relief and development umbrella organization, and the other half were his own personal donation. The flight also carried Robert Seiple (president of World Vision) and a UCLA doctor who had worked in the aftermath of the 1985 Mexico City earthquake."
In her ExopoliticsTV interview, Leuren Moret discusses “Current Status of Seismo-Electromagnetics for Short-Term Earthquake Prediction” by M. Hayakawa, and Y. Hobara (June 23, 2010) Geomatics, Natural Hazards and Risk.
She states, “This scientific paper describes “modern earthquakes” with a transmitted ULF frequency detected up to 12 days before the quakes, a quiet period about three days before the quake when the 2.5 Hz frequency is transmitted from a HAARP magnetometer, and the after-period with aftershocks.
This new field has emerged in seismology that coincides with the exponential escalation of large magnitude earthquakes globally since about 1965.
In fact the International Geophysical Year, which began in the 1950’s, was the signal for new research in geoscience that became the basic research necessary for HAARP applications.
The American Geophysical Union was revamped and well funded in the early 50’s as well to provide the science forum for development of HAARP under the cover of ‘research’.”
In her ExopoliticsTV interview, independent scientist Leuren Moret reveals the significance and function of the 2004 Demeter satellite by France as a component of HAARP and chemtrails (space-based and atmosphere-based) weapons system.
She states, “Seismo-electromagnetics” (lithosphere-atmosphere-ionosphere coupling) is not only a new well-funded field, but France launched their own satellite in 2004, “Demeter”, dedicated to monitoring ULF signature earthquakes.
Demeter is the Greek goddess of the harvest, grains, fertility of the earth, and the seasons, and is also the Goddess of poppies, with an Afghan=heroin=Dope, Inc. connection."
Ms. Moret states, “The paper by M. Hayakawa, and Y. Hobara gives an inventory of “modern” earthquakes (post 1965) with the ULF anomaly (Earthquakes in Kobe, Spitak Armenia, Loma Prieta, CA (USA), and Izu/Kagoshima/Iwate, Japan) and other contemporaneous earthquakes without the ULF anomaly (Earthquakes in Northridge, CA - USA - and Okushiri and Erimo, Japan).”
Ms. Moret concludes, “One can only conclude from data presented in this paper that countries are triggering HAARP earthquakes causing enormous environmental disasters used against their own citizens.”
The British-based Bjorn Again band said last week that they performed a private gig for the Russian prime minister and eight friends at a theatre in a Russian holiday resort.
Reports of the £20,000 show raised eyebrows in Moscow, where Russians are struggling to weather the financial crisis.
But Mr Putin's spokesman has taken the unusual stop of writing to a British newspaper to deny the reports, and insist the prime minister was too busy to have attended the Jan 22 concert.
"I don't know who their audience consisted of, but Vladimir Putin was not one of them," Dmitry Peskov wrote to The Times.
"He was actually working in his office that Thursday evening, meeting members of the Cabinet."
The spokesman said he was "sorry to disappoint" the tribute act, but added: "Mr Putin is more of a Beatles fan than an Abba one, as you can see if you read an interview by Andrew Lloyd Webber with Mr Putin on our website."
Bjorn Again founder Rod Stephen said on Friday the band – which has played throughout the world since it was formed in 1988 – had been paid £20,000 for the gig, and Mr Putin had a "great time".
The band claimed the prime minister, a former KGB spy who cultivates something of a hard-man image, sat on a sofa veiled by a lace curtain with a "glamorous" woman during the concert on the shores of Lake Valdai.
Mr Stephen, 50, said the Russian premier particularly enjoyed Mamma Mia and Super Trouper.
Mr Putin made headlines across the world when he appeared in pictures fishing while topless.
His tough-guy image was bolstered by other photographs showing him in judo bouts, holding firearms and apparently tranquillising a tiger.
This is believed to be the first time a nuclear power has written to a newspaper over a 70s tribute band.
